Social Ministries Projects for Lent

Attention: Commissions, Fraternal Orders, Families, and Ministries. Would you like to make a difference during Lent? Show others at Saint Patrick and Saint Elizabeth what you are all about? Consider hosting a Soup and Salad dinner during Lent. This outreach can be used to raise funds for your favorite charity, and bring knowledge of your ministry (personal, and/or church sponsored) to your brethren in our cluster. Enjoy the fellowship of both parishes during this time of reflection and grace.

Interested? Contact Mike Grumboski, email dbase32000@yahoo.com, or leave him a message at Saint Elizabeth Rectory 734-284-7727.

Soup & Salad will be served from 5 pm to 6 pm, on the following Friday's. Feb 19th, 26th, March 5th, 12th, 19th and 26th.

Donations will be accepted during Lent for the Downriver Food Pantry.

As homelessness and poverty increase amongst Downriver and even in our own parish, it is in the best interests to serve our hungry brethren, be they members or not of our parish.

We ask our congregation to prayerfully consider a purchase of extra can goods at this time to fill the bodies of the children and families in need.  Collection of frozen goods, like chicken, hamburger, etc. should be donated directly to the Downriver Food Pantry call 1-734-281-6733, or arrangements made with the Rectory for storage in our co-op, and we will proceed with the transfer. Frozen goods should be less than 3 months old.

Or make a donation to "Downriver Food Pantry."  Checks can be placed in the collection basket at Mass, cash should be in a separate envelope marked "Downriver Food Pantry" then place in the collection plate.

Please make sure all canned good are not out of date. Out of date items are disposed of for health reasons.
